Only the gods are allowed to be naked in the Library of Congress’ Court of Neptune fountain, Capitol Police warned a 27-year-old man last week.

Shortly after 9 a.m. on Oct. 1, cops responded to 10 First St. SE, following a report of a nude male bathing in the fountain. Police say they discovered Wodaji Getawa Mekonnen “matching that description, with his genitalia exposed.” Mekonnen was arrested at 9:19 a.m. for indecent exposure. He may have been cleaning up for a court appearance. According to D.C. Superior Court records, he missed a 9:30 a.m. status hearing that day on a separate misdemeanor charge.
