Sen. Charles E. Schumer slammed the Transportation Security Administration Tuesday, one day after the release of a report indicating massive airport security failures, which the New York Democrat called “utterly amazing.” “This was done because the Brooklyn [district attorney] a while ago was able to get — saw that guns were smuggled in the Atlanta airport,” Schumer said. “So we asked the TSA to check the other airports, the [inspector general] did this, but the results are astounding, troubling and demand not just a minor response from the TSA, but a top-to-bottom examination and overhaul.”
