Boehner May Not Need Tanning Support

The American Suntanning Association has registered a PAC to give contributions to federal candidates, but the perpetually tanned Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, is one member of Congress who may not need their support.

The Federal Election Commission registration statement  of the PAC indicated it is based in Jackson, Michigan, with Roger Holmes as treasurer.

The American Suntanning Association uses mCapitol Management to lobby on its behalf in Washington. During the first quarter of 2014, the lobbying firm reported  it received $40,000 from the association. During 2013, the association paid the firm $120,000. John Milne and Jeffrey Wiener are the firm’s lobbyists. They lobby on issues relating to tanning safety/regulations, and on taxes relating to tanning activities.

Speaker Boehner has raised millions of dollars for other candidates and has $2.2 million in his own campaign account. But it’s hard for a politician to turn away contributions. If offered, he may take a contribution and give it to other candidates who do need it.
