Former Commerce Secretary John Bryson will not be cited for a series of traffic accidents, according to the Associated Press.

Prosecutors declined to bring charges because the accidents, which led to his resignation, were likely caused by a seizure.

Bryson was driving a Lexus northeast of Los Angeles in June when he hit a car that had stopped for a train. He later hit a second car and was found unconscious.

At the time, he was cited by police for felony hit and run.

Bryson was President Barack Obama’s second Commerce secretary, after Gary Locke, who left to become ambassador to China. He was succeeded by acting Secretary Rebecca Blank.
