Wedding bells are about to ring for two top Democratic Senate aides, HOH has learned.

Katie Beirne and Brian Fallon, staff director and chief spokesman, respectively, for the recently formed Senate Democratic Policy and Communications Center, got engaged in December. They have yet to set a date, we’re told; Fallon declined to comment to HOH about the upcoming nuptials.

Aside from picking a venue and putting together a guest list, the impending union carries added concerns for the couple, considering they both work for the DPCC. A source tells HOH that although Beirne is the top aide for the DPCC, which is headed by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) and Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), Fallon reports to Schumer Chief of Staff Mike Lynch and Reid Deputy Chief of Staff Dave McCallum.

Both Senators and the DPCC staff are aware of the relationship, the source adds.

Ethics rules surrounding nepotism won’t apply to the couple until they are married. But even after they get hitched, their union shouldn’t violate any rules so long as Beirne isn’t involved in personnel decisions, such as raises and promotions, involving Fallon.

For now they can just focus on those monogrammed napkins …
