Lachapelle to Leave Reid’s Office

Regan Lachapelle will step down as deputy communications director for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at the end of this week to become the press director for the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

She has worked in the Nevada Democrat’s office since 2007 and previously worked in the office of Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.).

Lachapelle’s departure follows several others. Reid’s office confirmed last week that Rodell Mollineau, the staff director of the Senate Democratic Communications Center, would leave by the end of the month to pursue “other opportunities.” Senior Communications Adviser Jim Manley left his position last month.

The Millennium Challenge Corporation is a foreign development program begun in the George W. Bush administration. It was created in part to boost private-sector involvement in foreign aid.
