Former Rep. Tom Campbell (R-Calif.) will report $1.6 million in receipts for his Senate bid in the first quarter of the year, his campaign announced Monday.

The Campbell campaign picked up its fundraising in March, boasting Monday that it raised $600,000 of its total in the past three weeks. The $1.6 million sum includes $1.2 million for the primary and $377,000 for the general election.

Campbell led Republican primary rivals Carly Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, and state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore in the latest statewide poll, released Monday by the Los Angeles Times and University of Southern California.

Campbell was ahead of Fiorina 29 percent to 25 percent, with DeVore at 9 percent among registered Republican voters. Thirty-one percent were undecided.

That is narrower than a Field Poll released last month that had Campbell up on Fiorina by 6 points, but not so bad for Campbell as a Public Policy Institute for California survey that had Fiorina and Campbell statistically tied.

Neither Fiorina nor DeVore has released their first-quarter fundraising totals. Fiorina ended 2009 with $2.8 million in cash on hand; DeVore reported $226,000. Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) led the pack with $7.3 million in cash on hand.
