Nevada: Reid Surpasses $10M Raised This Cycle

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) continued to outraise a field of potential Republican competitors in the first quarter of 2010.

Reid will report raising more than $1.5 million in the period, pushing his total receipts for the cycle past $10 million.

Former state Sen. Sue Lowden, the top GOP contender, will “approach seven figures” in quarterly receipts, her communications director Crystal Feldman told Roll Call via e-mail. That breaks down to approximately $500,000 raised and $500,000 in personal funds she gave her campaign, per a dollar-for-dollar fundraising pledge Lowden made.

Lowden’s closest primary rival, Las Vegas real estate developer Danny Tarkanian, raised approximately $445,000 in the first three months of the year, up from $379,000 in the final quarter of 2009.
