Weiner’s Office Receives Envelope Containing White Powder

New York City police are investigating an envelope containing white powder that was sent to a Queens district office of Rep. Anthony Weiner (D), the lawmaker said in a statement.

Weiner said police dispatched a hazardous materials team to respond, and he has closed the office in Kew Gardens until they complete their investigation. “My first priority is the safety of my staff and neighbors, and the authorities are currently taking steps to investigate and resolve the situation,” Weiner said in a statement.
