Negotiators Take a Break

House Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) on Saturday emerged from the meeting in Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) office on the economic rescue plan, saying that negotiators have made progress and will continue to work through the night. Blunt, serving as the House GOP representative, revealed no new details but said he and other Senate and House Members have resolved some issues involving the administration’s $700 billion bailout plan for the banking industry. Negotiators are taking an hour-long break. “We’re making progress,” Blunt said when asked how negotiations are going. “We will work into the evening. … I don’t know if we will finish tonight.”
